Jennie

I’m a middle-class working Mom and Wife.  YAWN.  I have approximately 25,109 grey hairs.  Those bad boys started coming while I was still in my twenties.  I’m a decade (or two) past that now.

I’m Leah’s big sister and her number one blog reader (the stats don’t lie).  I was 13 when she was born and she was my squishy pet baby doll sister.  There are 3 other siblings between us – but they won’t blog with us so I’m not going to talk about them.  Privacy schrivacy.

For awhile now, I’ve been thinking about code names for blogging about my kids.  I tried asking them for ideas, but … Mercedes?  Gimme a break.  So, they’re going to be Girl vs16 (as in 16 years old – Lord help me),  Boy vs12, and Girl vs11.  When they advance a year, the names will be upgraded.

BTW, I’m a computer geek.  Not too hard core, but I do sit in front of a computer all day.  I love data.  Seriously.  I use spreadsheets to keep track of family birthdays and baking.  Especially if the baking involves a multi-tiered wedding cake for the aforementioned bratty baby sister.

I’ve been married for 18 years to Hubby.  Which is odd because my parents were in their 18th year when they divorced.  Milestones like that weird me out.  Like when you pass the age your mother was when she had her 5th child.  Anyhow, Hubby is a gorgeous Anglo-Native American hunk who I plan to keep, thank you very much.

Oh yeah, back to the 3 kidlets.  At the moment they’re foster kidlets.  But they’ve been with us for over 8 years now and we’re in the process of adopting them.  We’re going to have the biggest party EVER when that happens.  It’s been a long road.

Recently I accidentally, impulsively bought  a doggy.  I never really paid much attention to the few dogs that were in my childhood, so I consider her my first doggy ever.  I’m completely smitten with her and I’ll probably blog about her more than my children.  She’s not so concerned about privacy, so I’ll tell you her name is Maddie.  I named her after Madeleine L’Engle, a favourite author of mine.

Which brings me to my last paragraph.  I’m a book geek.  And a crochet geek.  And a sewing geek.  And a do-it-yourself geek.  But I’m really REALLY a book geek.  OK, that’s all.
