Just so y’all know, when Jill says “we’ll do a scan for naughty mags” she means that we’ll make sure there aren’t any there and if there are, we’ll ensure our kids don’t see them. Jill and I had some unfortunate childhood exposures as a result of the town dump.

Jennie, they only don’t let you if they can see you! Vernon Dump = Un-guarded and Boring, so far, not giving up though. Calgary Dump = Awesome but heavily guarded. 100 Mile Dump = Obviously good. We could do a night time run next time we’re up. We’ll do a scan for naughty mags with the front covers ripped off and let the kids go for it!

@Mumy – They reproduce and apparently a colony can go on for a couple years.

@Courtney – I haven’t quit going to the dump by choice, they don’t let people prowl around dumps in the big city; they’re probably keeping all the good stuff for themselves. Remind me when I’m next up your way and I’ll TOTALLY go to the dump with you.

@Leah – How can “Instant Life” be anti-climatic? And wait until you see how big they are!

I was also very excited about the sea monkeys as well, then I realized they were completely anti climactic. You’re expecting a Sea MONKEY…not a little shrimp. Meh.

I had fun trying to show Amanda the new ones that hatched while she said “no they’re dead, it’s just a spec moving in the water” and I’m like “forwards and backwards and up and down?” but still she maintained it WASNT a sea monkey. Sheesh.

I too have always wanted to own sea monkeys! I also agree with you on the special pastime called “the dump”. Although I haven’t stopped going there. We just got a $400 train table from the dump! Awesome condition and free! I think I might actually need to write out my bucket list rather than keep it in a mental note…opening evernote right now!

Good Gracious! I was definitely more excited with Cornelius’ Sea Monkeys than he was as well, and for all of the same reasons. And, by the way, they live FOREVER! Or else those naughty little monkeys have sea monkey love and just keep making babies!
